9:00 AM to 1:00PM
Dave & Buster’s – 1030 Auahi St, Honolulu
HMAUS usually stages its Fall event — Mactoberfest — in October. This year HMAUS is pushing the traditional event back to November, and this time we aren’t going to load up as we usually do on the technical stuff. Yes, there is no end to the search for computer grail, but have you ever wondered what people actually do with their digital tools?
Here are the folks we have slated for the program:
Joe Kissell, our favorite Apple genius, will chat with us via Skype from San Diego;
And via Facetime from Texas, Bill Martin, irrepressible tech news aggregator and prolific contributor to the HMAUS-L;
Ryan Ozawa, social media maven and co-host of HPR radio show, Bytemarks Cafe;
Michelle Manna (aka the Gadget Girl) Loves to Shop Online, and will share a bit of experience with using online services to make fabulous photo products (Hint–good for holiday gifts);
Quala Lynn Young, art educator and poet, will read from her recently published handmade book based on her experience with Alzheimers patients;
Marcy Katz, ceramic artist and perpetual traveller, will promote Journi an app she uses to document her roaming;
Ron Albu…let him be the judge — He’ll give us at least five reasons to want the Apple Watch;
Arlen Nagata, will coach us with the same number of reasons to love Siri again;
and T Young, no longer aspiring to be a filmmaker, will foist on us a recent iMovie video…or two.
Why stress out as the holiday madness goes full swing? Relax…Come have a nice lunch with us…Warm yourselves up for the year’s end…gradually.
