Dutch Schubert (1921-2011)
Planning is underway to mark the 40th birthday of the Hawaii Macintosh & Apple Users’ Society in 2019. And one of the projects already started is for HMAUS to publish its very first cookbook. The book will be dedicated to the memory of Dutch Schubert, a well loved member and leader who helped many people through her dedication and support of our organization.
We’re calling on our members to submit their favorite recipes for this book. An online submission form will be announced soon. Throughout 2018 the HI Touch Learning Center will offer workshops for members to learn how to create and publish the cookbook in both paper and digital forms. Lessons will include page layout, food photography, typography, web design, copy editing and other related skills needed for the project.
The HI Touch Learning Center workshop for May will focus on page layout and design using Apple Pages. This will help the cookbook planning committee with hands-on skills training. This workshop will be this Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Nuuanu Baptist Church. Here is the link for more information: http://hmaus.org/event/hi-touch-learning-center-2/.
