Holidays and greeting cards go together so we thought a Print Party would be just the right thing to do for our October Imagemakers Workshop. We could learn about the latest in printing technology, inks and paper. We could also revisit the basics in image preparation for print delivery.
In addition to all this “learning” we will be “doing” — actually making greeting cards that we could share and send to our friends and family!
HMAUS member Michelle Manna will also bring a few of her photo books and greeting cards she published using different online printing services. We get to see the different kinds paper and binding each of the services use. It’s a great way to help us learn which services would be appropriate for our next book project. Photo books would make great holiday gifts.
Professional photographer Terry Takaki, will share the day to help us understand printer technology, ink, image basics and paper.
And to top it all off at the end of the workshop we will give away one of the printers, a Canon Selphy CP910, to a lucky participant!
This workshop is free and open to members and guests. All we ask for is a donation of $12 to cover the cost of ink and paper from those who wish to try these printers and papers.
Bring your favorite images on an SD memory card or a USB thumb drive.
