Local Talk – Make IT with You

  • by

More Monkey Business is afoot for the March HI Touch Meetup where we will continue with this year’s theme of “making” the future with technology.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Portrait Patrick Delos Santos We’re fortunate once again to have Patrick Delos Santos as a guest. He is a professional photographer and has helped HMAUS with many workshops.

In the morning Patrick will share with us how he makes great images with tips on working with subjects, managing light and shooting on location. Patrick will be bringing a model to help with the demonstration.

He will also bring along some of his gear and demonstrate how he uses them to great advantage. Finally, he’ll share some ideas on how to make paper or digital magazines, postcards and presentation books using photography.

The Computer that Started it All (and how it could be yours)

DSCN1888.jpg~c200 Later in the morning Bryan Villados will present an introduction to digital computer electronics, using Apple Computer’s first product, the Apple-1 as an example. He’ll break the Apple-1 down to the microprocessor, memory management and keyboard/video processing levels.

In the afternoon, Bryan will build an Apple-1 replica, and give a tutorial on proper electronic kit building, including PCB preparation, proper soldering techniques and layout strategy.

A lucky person might even be taking home an Apple-1 replica!

And will there be a doctor in the house? Yes, Doctor Kokua will also be on hand at the HI Touch Meetup on Saturday, March 5. Bring your tech support questions and ailments for a special consult at the open clinic in the afternoon.

Please register for this HI Touch Meetup so we may provide adequately for everyone.

More importantly, only registered attendees will be eligible to win the door prize, the Apple-1 replica.
